Spinal Tumors

There are 3 types of spinal tumors: benign, malignant tumor of the spinal cord and metastatic tumor to the spine.  These usually present with weakness, paralysis, pain and/or numbness.  Diagnosis is made with MRI scan.  Treatment may require surgery.  Surgery may completely excise the tumor or partially excise the tumor necessitating radiation and/or chemotherapy.
